GDO has formed 60 Community Organisations (COs), 26 Women Saving Groups (WSGs), 10 Awaz Village Forums (AVF), one Union Council forum (AUCF) and one Tehsil forum in Tehsil Karor, District Layyah. In these bodies female participation is 80% and male participation 20%, and members are trained in community management and leadership.
GDO has built strong working relationships with local government, NGOs, international organisations and donors such as Orangi Pilot Project (OPP), Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), SMEDA and SAP-PK, and takes part in meetings, activities and training programmes with them.
It also works with district line departments — Forest, Water Management, Health, Education, Higher Education, Agriculture Extension, Livestock & Dairy and Local Government.
