Programme

Advocacy & linkages

GDO connects communities with government departments, donors, NGOs and the private sector through networks, advocacy and linkage seminars, and builds the capacity of local organisations to access resources.

The challenge

Why this matters

Small community groups often cannot reach government schemes or donor funding because they lack project-management skills and networks.

What GDO does

  • Membership of NGO networks and alliances working for the same cause
  • Partnerships with OPP, SPO, SAP-PK and SMEDA, and with line departments (health, education, agriculture, livestock, local government and more)
  • Capacity building and technical help for local community organisations in project development, management and monitoring
  • Linkage and advocacy seminars
